Cortalix Advances Synthetic VHH Discovery with Operational Ribosomal Display Platform
Cortalix is pleased to announce that its ribosomal display platform is now fully operational, marking a significant milestone in the company’s VHH antibody discovery capabilities.
The ribosomal display system is built directly on Cortalix’s proprietary synthetic VHH scaffold framework, the same humanized, thermally stable, aggregation-free foundation that underlies our phage display synthetic libraries. This means that every discovery campaign can now start in a functional diversity pool of up to 10¹⁴ unique VHH variants, before transitioning seamlessly into phage display for precise hit enrichment and selection.
The result is a single, integrated pipeline that combines the broadest possible sequence coverage in round one with the robustness and selectivity of phage display in subsequent rounds, all within a scaffold designed for clinical translation from the outset.
“This is a natural extension of what we have been building at Cortalix,” said Dr. Foteini Karapanagioti, Senior Scientist at Cortalix. “Our synthetic framework was always designed to support multiple display technologies. Having ribosomal display fully operational means we can now offer our partners access to the entire functional sequence space, without sacrificing the clinical-ready properties of our scaffold.”
The combined ribosomal and phage display pipeline is available immediately for new client programs and internal pipeline development.
