oAbout the role
At Cortalix, the Junior Business Developer is actively involved in developing the strategic business development plan and establishing, maintaining, managing strategic contacts and contracts with pharmaceutical companies, contract research organizations, research groups and investors with the ultimate goal of generating daily business and add value to Cortalix. It is initially a hybrid position, where business development is combined with an active operational role in the laboratory to gain 100% feeling for the business in which Cortalix is located.
Ultimately, your primary task is to secure sufficient licensing, collaboration and service contracts to guarantee the required growth of the company. Even though this is a junior position, show that you have the personality, enough creativity and operational knowledge to do all this successfully.
The Junior Business Developer reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer, but works closely with Cortalix’s research and innovation, product development and preclinical teams.
This is an exciting opportunity for a junior life sciences professional with business development ambitions in the CRO, radiopharmaceutical and immunotherapeutics landscape and with an understanding of the BD requirements of a pharmaceutical-biotech company with a hybrid business model.
What we expect
- You have completed a relevant life sciences education at HBO or academic level, MSc or PhD, and you also have practical skills in areas such as antibody production, bacterial and yeast cell culture, strain development and DNA cloning techniques, or diagnostic or therapeutic applications of antibodies, giving you a good insight into our background technology and in the potential of the BD opportunities.

- You enjoy networking and has demonstrated that you can create and build relationships with internal and external parties.
- You are a results-oriented team player, with a proactive, hands-on and solution-oriented attitude.
- Have the ability to work successfully in a small organization.
- You are willing to travel abroad and visit conferences and clients.
- You have good reporting and presentation skills (internal/external).
